Serie A Predictions: Europa League Sides Face Tricky Return

Serie A logo6 Serie A Predictions: Europa League Sides Face Tricky Return As predicted, Valencia beat Genoa 2-1 in the Europa League yesterday, missing out on a place in the last 32. Unfortunately, despite a hard fought match, Genoa’s fate was sealed by the French side Lille, who convincingly beat Slavia Prague 3-1.

With the game against fellow mid-tablers  Bari on Sunday, Genoa will need to put this disappointing performance behind them if they want to improve their title hopes. Quite a few sides are currently on 24 points, so a win for Genoa could move them up several places if the teams around them draw or lose.

AS Roma V Parma

Again as predicted, Roma confidently beat CSKA Sofia away. Beating the Bulgarian side 3-0, secures the top spot in Group E and a place in the last 32.

As well as the Europa League, Roma are also riding fairly high in Serie A at the moment. Currently lying 5th on 25 points they could improve on that if they beat Parma on Sunday. And with a home advantage they might just do it. But a number of other teams are pushing them hard.

PartyBets.com Prediction: 1-0 to Roma @ 5/1

Inter Milan V Lazio

With just one win out of six in the Europa League, Levski Sofia somehow managed to do the improbable – break both the duck and force Lazio out at the same time. This doesn’t augur well for Lazio’s weekend clash with Inter Milan. In fact, the Inter v Lazio match might just be a crucial turning point for the league leaders. A win could stretch their lead even further forcing everyone else to play catch up in the New Year, especially their immediate rivals.

PartyBets.com Prediction: 3-1 to Inter Milan @ 11/1

Fiorentina V AC Milan

For instance, AC Milan travel to Fiorentina this weekend. A win will help keep up the pressure on Inter; a win for Fiorentina could move them up the table. However given Fiorentina’s generally inconsistent performances in Serie A compared to the Champions League, I predict a win for AC Milan.

PartyBets.com Prediction: AC Milan to win and onver 2.5 goals scored @ 4/1

Juventus V Catania

At the bottom of the table, both Atalanta and Catania have two very tough away matches. Atalanta must beat Bolognia if they are to stop being dragged further down the table.
Juventus on the other hand, need to prove they have put their own recent inconsistent performances behind them, if they want to keep up the pressure on Inter Milan, next year.
As for Catania, unfortunately time is fast running out. They must beat Juventus, but the odds are not in their favour.

PartyBets.com Prediction: 2-0 to Juventus @ 5/1
