Roma go to the Stadio Artemio Franchi to play Fiorentina this Sunday, and will be hoping to make it five wins in a row in Serie A.
Since resuming the season they have managed to overtake Juventus and put themselves in shouting distance of at least second place. Currently the club is level on 41 points with AC Milan but the latter has a better goal difference. They also have a game in hand on Roma.
Fiorentina who have had rather mixed results so far will be aiming to put on a show for their home fans, particularly since the club resumes its own Champions League endeavour in two weeks; they play Bayern Munich on the 17th February.
But can Fiorentina do it? They are facing a team whose belief is sky high at the moment and Roma are not going to let Fiorentina get in the way of their ambition.
In the last five games Fiorentina has won two, lost two and drawn one, the latter was against Cagliari and finished 2-2.
As for Roma, while they have had a blistering start to the year, will the bubble burst this weekend?
There may be a ten point difference between these two teams but in a game in which both sides have a lot to prove both to themselves and their fans, it could end up a stalemate.
Fiorentina V Roma Prediction: 1-1 at 6.50
With four defeats out of their last five games, Siena will be hoping this is the start in a change of fortunes, when they host Sampdoria at home on Sunday.
Siena may have been pleased with themselves having kept the score line down when they played Roma last weekend, but Sampdoria are a completely different proposition. They lie in 7th place at the moment on thirty-three points.
A win at Siena could push them up to 5th place depending on how Palermo and Juventus perform; both games were profiled yesterday in our Serie A predictions section.
Sampdoria’s results so far from the last five games are mixed: two wins, two draws and one defeat. On paper they should easily beat Siena.
As for Siena, another defeat this time is likely to have serious consequences for their manager Alberto Malesani. Unfortunately for Siena there is only going to be one outcome this Sunday.
Back the much stronger Sampdoria to take all three points and under 2.5 goals scored in the game at 4.25.
