Mourinho’s Unsettled But Inter Look Unstoppable

Inter Milan ScudettoInter Milan continue to destroy all comers in their quest for the Serie A Championship.  This time they thrashed Cagliari 3-0, with Pandev opening the scoring after just 6 minutes. Samuel scored on the 20th minute giving the league leaders a 2-0 advantage going into half time.

Milito continued after half time by scoring just two minutes into the second half.  From all accounts it was an easy win for Inter with only 2 players (both from Inter) being booked.

Despite this win, Inter’s manager is considering his position at the club. It is rumoured that Jose Mourinho is at the top of Liverpool’s list of possible contenders to take over from Rafa Benitez, if the latter quits later in the year.

When he joined Inter Milan, Mourinho had a £5.5 million buy-out clause added to his contract, which it is believed he wants to activate.

According to the News of the World, Mourinho and the club “signed a very objective contract until 2012, because we want to work together. But there is a cancellation clause that Inter will pay me if they want my departure and another that I will pay Inter if I want to leave. It’s all simple and very objective. There will never be a never-ending story with us as has happened in the past with other people. We are honest people with honest contracts and objectivity.”

While the top team in Serie A continues with an unstoppable winning streak, Siena still seems intent on dropping out of Serie A at the end of the season.

As predicted, Sampdoria beat Siena, 2-1 away. Daniele Gastaldello opened the score line after just 3 minutes. However it did take the club another 74 minutes before they finished off the home side.

Siena also managed to get a consolation goal just before full time on the 83rd minute when Maccarone scored.
The game itself was seemingly a frantic affair, and perhaps a dirty match, as five players were booked – three from Siena and two from Sampdoria. Maccarone was booked in injury time.

This win puts Sampdoria back in the frame for a possible top placing. They now in 6th pace on 36 points.
