Parma’s Busy Week Will Affect Both Ends Of Serie A

Parma Guiseppe RossiITALY – Parma play two games within a short space of time this week. The first is on Wednesday at home against Inter Milan and the second next Sunday against Lazio.

The first match will be a tough one for the mid table club, particularly since Inter seem unstoppable at the moment. They also go into the match having been beaten by 5th place Palermo, this being the 3rd defeat out of last four games; their only point coming with a draw against Udinese.

Parma’s troubles don’t stop there. They also have an injury worry with their midfielder, Blerim Dzemaili, who sustained a serious injury during the match against Palermo on Saturday.

Seemingly, he was taken off during the first half after and twisting his knee. The player was immediately rushed to the local hospital. Unfortunately, he could be out of action for the rest of the season.

The news will be a devastating for Francesco Guidolins, whose struggling side has failed to win any match during the last six games.

As for the result, you must bet on a win for Inter Milan, no other result seems remotely likely.  Parma have only won three out of the last nineteen meetings between these two teams.  Tomorrow night will go with the form.

PartyBets.com Prediction: Inter Milan to win and under 2.5 goals scored at 2.80.

14/02/10 – Parma (2.30) V Lazio (3.20)

Parma’s second match looks on paper to be easier as the equally struggling Lazio are just about holding off slumping to the bottom. A win against Parma could see Lazio jump several places but they do seem to have a penchant for drawing games. Their last four games results are: three draws and one defeat.

In fact in the last fifteen games, Lazio have won just two. They even got beat by Catania at the weekend the latter managing to maintain the spark that eluded them up till Christmas.

Lazio’s manager, Davide Ballardini is also under pressure to get results. But he recently told reporters that rumours about his imminent sacking didn’t bother him.

“Do I risk the sack? I don’t know anything,” he is reported to have said. “Do these rumours bother me? Absolutely not.”
However another defeat away at the Stadio Ennio Tardini in Parma may just change his attitude.

That said, it will be a very close game with few goalscoring opportunities so the best value bet is a draw at 3.00.
