Copa Del Rey: Getafe Confident Of A Comeback – But Don’t Bet On It
SPAIN – Getafe (2.45) face the uphill task of overturning a 2-0 deficit from the first leg of this Copa del Rey semi-final. Getafe are going into the tie full of hope, where as Sevilla (2.75) are carrying the pressure as it is now demanded they seal their place in the Cup Final.
Sevilla coach Manolo Jimenez has insisted that his side will have no excuses if they fail after placing one foot in the final already.
“I guess it will be a test for me but I do not care. We played a lot to get into a final. There are no excuses or anything. We cannot hesitate or be influenced by the atmosphere,” he has told reporters.
Getafe coach Michel, on the other hand, has said they will be treating the Sevilla showdown like a league game. “It’s a normal game and we will treat it normally. If we play like we did there, where we had seven or eight chances, and we manage to convert two of them then the game goes into extra-time,” he told reporters at a press conference.
Both sides suffered defeats at the weekend in La Liga as Sevilla went down 2-1 away to Real Zaragoza and Getafe succumbed 2-1 away to Barcelona.
Sevilla last travelled to Getafe in November 2008 and ran out 2-0 winners. This season the league encounter at Sevilla witnessed Getafe claim the three points with a 2-1 win. Sevilla currently have a 100% away record in the Copa del Rey.
We should expect this to be a tight encounter with only a goal between the two sides, you can back both teams to score at just under evens at 1.93 with Roberto Soldado to score and Sevilla to win available at 7.50.
It will only take a single goal by Sevilla to see Getafe’s hopes of a comeback evaporate, so go for a Getafe 1 – 2 Sevilla at 10.00.
The second semi-final between Racing Santander and Athletico Madrid takes place tomorrow night. Athletico thumped Racing 4-0 in the first leg so in all likelihood will rest a few players and not look to attack Racing too much.
Racing will want to retrieve some semblance of credibility so back them to win and keep a clean sheet but fail to stop Athletico progressing to the Copa Del Rey final at 4.00.
